It has been forever since that first post. As you can tell, I am simply fantastic at blogging regularily. Anyways...
To be honest not much has been planned since our engagement in February. Boy Wonder is in grad school and I work a lot. We did manage to find time in August to go to my friends wedding in the Okanagan. It was beautiful! Everyone looked amazing. The food was great, the music was great and the venue rocked. I miss the heat and fruit (and wine and lakes) of the Okanagan. Can someone please move it closer to me? Thanks.
It was wonderful so see my friends so happy and in love. I think relationships are one of those things you will never understand about your friends. No matter how close you are too them, you will never tell them, or hear, everything (good and bad) that goes on. That's how it should be. Remember that next time you are giving someone advice on their relationship because 'you don't have all of the facts'. I love learning things about my friends during speeches. You get to see how a new family percieves them! My mother hates speeches at weddings (particularily if they are long) but they are my favorite part. Buckle up mom, we're having speeches at ours!
The wedding jumnpstarted our wedding planning again, we got a bit lazy. Boy Wonder started a notebook of ideas and I lost myself in pinterest for several days before getting overwhelmed again and watching Downton Abbey for 12 hours straight. I did manage to pick and ask my bridesmaids though (thats a whole other post). This was a big step for me I think! My one bridesmaids started me a spreadsheet and asked me all these questions I never even thought of. It calmed me down to know someone has an idea of what should be planned.
We haven't set a date yet but we're thinking November 2013. Its a long ways a way, and in many ways I wish it was sooner but I think its for the best. I'm a procrastinator and a perfectionist about these things (NOT a good combo). I'm hoping the time will allow me to get everything done with minimal stress and zero bridezilla behavior. Good luck with that one, me.
